Thailand enforces re-entry ban again! Overstayers may be barred from entering the country for up to 10 years

Thailand will recently strengthen and strictly enforce the re-entry ban for foreign travelers who have overstayed. Thai authorities stated that, for the safety of Thai people, starting immediately, those who have overstayed for more than one year will be banned from entering Thailand for 10 years.

The Thai government said that according to the current re-entry ban policy, those who have overstayed for more than 90 days but less than one year will face a one-year re-entry ban; those who have overstayed between one and three years will be banned for three years; those who have overstayed between three and five years will be banned for five years; and those who have overstayed for more than five years will be banned for 10 years.

However, foreign tourists who have been detained by Thai authorities for overstaying for less than one year will be banned from re-entering Thailand for five years; those who have overstayed for more than one year will be banned for 10 years.
