Rice burgers have always been a popular item at fast food restaurants. They may look complicated and hard to make, but in fact, with just a few simple ingredients and steps, you can whip up incredibly delicious rice burgers yourself. Today, let’s share how you can easily make them at home whenever you’re craving one.

Ingredients (Serves 1)

1 bowl of steamed white rice
60g pork loin slices
1/6 of an onion, thinly sliced
A small amount of carrot, julienned
6 green beans (cut on the bias)
2 leaves of lettuce
A small amount of white sesame seeds

Sauce
1 tbsp bonito-flavored soy sauce (or regular soy sauce)
1 tsp mirin
1 tbsp miso paste

Instructions

1. Press the rice into circles, then pan-fry them. Use a brush to lightly coat with a bit of soy sauce. Once the rice turns slightly golden brown, remove from heat and set aside.(Tips 1)

2. Pan-fry the pork slices until they are about 6–7/10 cooked, then add the sauce and stir-fry together.

3. Next, add the onions, carrots, and green beans, and stir-fry until cooked. (If you prefer more sauce, don’t cook it down too much.)

4. Finally, assemble in the following order: rice, lettuce, meat and vegetables, another layer of lettuce, and top with rice. Sprinkle with a little white sesame to finish. (See Tip 2)

Tips

1. Brushing the soy sauce helps control the amount added and prevents the rice from falling apart due to excess moisture.
2. Using lettuce to separate the meat and rice helps avoid the sauce making the rice too wet, which could cause the burger to fall apart.

Aren’t rice burgers super easy to make? Not only are they more economical, but you can also customize the ingredients to your liking. Don’t miss out on these free-style, delicious rice burgers. Don’t hesitate—get cooking now.
