Alishan Forest Recreation Area remains open over the Spring Festival. From February 10 (Monday) to February 17 (the eighth day of the Lunar New Year), between 8 AM and 5 PM daily, ten shuttle bus stops will be set up along Kilometers 83 to 95 of Provincial Highway 18 (Alishan Highway), offering free shuttle bus services; visitors taking the shuttle on holidays can also enjoy a 25% discount on admission tickets.

The Chiayi Forest District Office stated that every year during the Spring Festival holiday, Alishan National Forest Recreation Area attracts numerous visitors. Due to limited parking space within the area, to reduce parking time and avoid congestion, visitors are encouraged to park their vehicles in order in the temporary roadside parking spaces along Provincial Highway 18 between kilometers 86 and 95, then transfer to the free shuttle buses to enter the park, or take public transportation. Additionally, during the Spring Festival period, 200 motorcycle parking spaces will be designated for free motorcycle parking outside the main entrance of the recreation area. For traffic flow planning and safety reasons, motorcycles are completely restricted from entering the park.
The Alishan National Forest Recreation Area launched the “Group Visitor Admission Diversion Reservation” system starting January 22. Each day, 3,500 group visitors traveling by Type A and B buses are allowed entry in the morning, and 2,500 in the afternoon. Group visitors must apply online three months to one day prior to their visit, print the certification number, and place it on the vehicle’s windshield. This system will continue to be in effect during the Lunar New Year holiday to maintain the quality of the visitor experience within the park.
