GD’s Dream Cafe in Jeju Island – Breathtaking Ocean Views & Ultimate Romance

Honestly, G-Dragon’s popularity in Korea is truly phenomenal. Before visiting this Monsant Cafe, I first watchedGD’s holographic performance at “PLAY K-POP”, where the high school girls were absolutely wild—I could clearly feel that GD’s fame far exceeded my imagination. So this cafe, nestled in Aewol with stunning views, has become insanely popular thanks to GD’s association. It’s packed to the brim on weekends, so weekdays are your best bet if you want a little space for photos (though even on Friday, it was pretty crowded).

How to get to this cafe is explained at the end of the article—you can even take a bus there. As you walk in, you’ll see the somewhat solitary Monsant Cafe standing by the sea. The word “Monsant” in Korean means “a dream,” so this is a Dream Cafe. For many, owning a cafe in the mountains or by the sea and living that life is a dream.

The ocean view here is absolutely breathtaking.

The cafe is all floor-to-ceiling windows, giving you direct views of the sea—even when you’re sitting indoors, you can enjoy the beautiful ocean scenery.

After ordering, just grab a vibration buzzer—it’ll notify you when your food is ready.

It’s a cafe, but there are also plenty of food items you can order separately, which is actually pretty nice.

The size isn’t small either!!

A half-moon shaped pizza, dusted with white powdered sugar, looks like a moon covered in snow.

After carefully cutting it open with scissors, the inside is filled with red bean paste | ... looks soft and fluffy.

Inside are plump red beans, sticky like mochi (red bean | ...), with a sweet and pleasant flavor. The texture is also very satisfying.

This spot faces west, so if you come during sunset, you’ll get to see the golden coastline—it’s gorgeous!! We arrived a bit early.

You can also take a stroll along the coast. Besides Monsant de Aewol, there’s also a small orange house ?? called ??, another popular cafe nearby. It goes for a colorful theme, but they have a server at the entrance enforcing a minimum drink purchase (GD’s cafe, however, has no such restriction).
