Tempura Matsu is a well-known kaiseki restaurant in Arashiyama, Kyoto, operating on a fully reservation-only basis. The restaurant doesn’t have a fixed menu; the chef decides the dishes based on the freshest ingredients available each day. The ice brick cold noodles are part of the kaiseki course and are not available every day – you’ll need some luck to get a taste.

 To enjoy a full kaiseki course at Tempura Matsu, lunch sets start from 5,000 yen, while dinner is 10,000 yen per person. Reservations are required. There is no set menu – dishes are decided based on daily ingredients. The ice brick cold noodles are not a daily fixed item and depend on the chef’s arrangement.
