Three suicide bomb attacks occurred at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Turkey’s largest airport, at around 10 p.m. local time on June 28. At least 36 people have been killed and 147 injured, and the airport has been temporarily closed. The Foreign Ministry has raised the travel alert level for Istanbul to “orange,” advising Taiwanese travelers to avoid non-essential trips. Those planning business or leisure travel to Turkey in the near future should pay special attention to safety.
