This exhibition has specially flown in nearly 400 precious original manuscripts from Taiwan, including original charcoal sketches, color scripts, and three-dimensional models, giving you a glimpse into the creative process of Pixar’s artists. Without their ideas for characters and scenes, there would be no lifelike and vivid computer animations. Therefore, to understand the creative journey of Pixar animations, one must go back to the source of creativity — the manuscripts.

Two major installations at this exhibition, the “3D Holographic Box” and “Artistic Landscapes,” let you become a Pixar animator for a day and have an unforgettable experience. Pixar has placed iconic characters from “Toy Story” into the 3D Holographic Box, using the persistence of vision effect to make Buzz Lightyear and Woody come to life right before your eyes. The “Artistic Landscapes” installation condenses years of manuscripts into short films, allowing you to envision 3D spaces from 2D hand-drawn sketches just like a producer, and immerse yourself in the entire creative journey from nothing to a fully realized animation.
