Hami melons sport super-cute Kitty designs — the price is shocking, making them hard to buy

The Japanese really can do anything — besides cube watermelons, now even hami melons have Kitty’s face, which is truly unbelievable.

According to Lonely Planet, Japanese farmers carve Kitty cat patterns onto the surface of hami melons about a month before harvest. Of course, fruits blessed with Kitty aren’t cheap at all — one typically costs around 1,500 New Taiwan Dollars, but they’re really perfect as gifts.

In fact, it’s not the first time high-priced Japanese fruits have made the news. In 2015, The Wall Street Journal reported that two hami melons from Hokkaido were sold for 300,000 New Taiwan Dollars at a fruit auction.
