This morning (3rd), the lowest temperatures in northern Taiwan remained around 14 to 16 degrees Celsius, with very sporadic and light rainfall in the Greater Taipei mountainous areas and Yilan-Taitung mountainous regions. The latest simulation from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) shows that winds near Taiwan will shift to easterly to southeasterly, bringing stable weather to the western half of the country. Daytime temperatures will rebound significantly, with highs reaching around 24 to 27 degrees Celsius and a daily temperature range of up to 10 degrees. By next Thursday (9th), as a frontal system passes, northern and eastern parts of the country will see rainy conditions, and the strongest cold snap of winter will move southward, causing a sharp drop in temperatures across the region.
