As summer arrives, the beverage battle in the eastern district is heating up. On June 13, another store joined the competition—Bobii Frutii Pearl Fruit Special Mix Dunnan Store, located in an alley off Dunhua South Road in Taipei, officially opened today (6/13). To stand out in the market, Li Yuyang, chairman of Bobii Frutii Pearl Fruit Special Mix, said the special mixes emphasize all-natural ingredients with no additives. The drinks are hand-whipped on-site using fresh fruits and premium teas, and even the pearls are handmade.

Li Yuyang said that besides using only additive-free, natural ingredients such as fresh fruits and premium teas—free from any artificial flavors or colors—the store’s signature drink “Yuzhi Chuxue” uses matcha powder from Marukyu Koyamaen, a 300-year-old Japanese matcha brand from Uji. The matcha is also prepared entirely by hand. When made by staff on-site, matcha powder is placed in a bowl, mixed with 80-degree hot water, and then whisked with a bamboo whisk to achieve a smooth and delicate texture. It is then poured over milk with ice, taking about three minutes in total.

Wang [name redacted], special assistant at Bobii Frutii, said that another summer favorite, “Don’t Wanna Grow Up,” is also a signature drink. It combines fresh strawberries, mangoes, and fresh milk yogurt, resulting in a sweet, slightly tangy flavor with a light natural fruity aroma. Its sweet and dreamy macaron-like pink hues are designed to capture the hearts of girls.
Nearby, there are also two other popular beverage shops: Huatian Fruit Room and SOMA Special Mix. Huatian Fruit Room is known for its Japanese-style hipster fresh juice bar, while SOMA Special Mix’s tea au lait is especially well-loved.
