Although many internationally renowned restaurants have their first branches in Taiwan mostly located in Taipei, there has recently been a trend of moving toward Taichung. Examples include Kang Ho-dong 678 White Pork BBQ and Seafood Tower’s Busan Jennifer. Now, on the same street, a new Korean-style skewer barbecue called “Dabok G – Skewer BBQ” has opened. Its biggest highlight is stringing all the ingredients onto an extra-long 120-centimeter skewer and then grilling them one by one.

The Korean-style skewer barbecue “Dabok G – Skewer BBQ” is currently in soft opening. Its 120-centimeter skewers feature pork, chicken, vegetables and fruits, as well as seafood. The cooking process starts with grilling the pork, and then using the rendered fat to cook the chicken and seafood. In between, various vegetables and fruits like pineapple, banana, and king oyster mushrooms are added. Aside from grilled meats, Dabok G also offers cheese tteokbokki hot pot, Korean ramen, and army stew. Among them, the bear paw ramen, which resembles ghost claws, is quite the visual treat, while pork ribs so big they don’t even fit inside the bowl are a must-see.
