After a weekend of overcast skies and rain, the continental cold air mass weakened on Monday and Tuesday. On March 27, the entire country enjoyed clear to partly cloudy weather, with temperatures ranging between 15–25°C (warmer the further south you go). From March 28 to 30, temperatures continued to rise, with Pingtung reaching a high of up to 29°C, and northern areas peaking at around 23–24°C. Starting Wednesday, the Hualien-Taitung area began experiencing brief periods of rain, and from March 31 onward, the whole country saw a shift to rainy weather. With many people already taking time off ahead of the holiday, those heading out should prepare for rain and pay attention to the climate conditions at their destinations.

Starting April 1, the Qingming holiday begins. Apart from eastern Taiwan and areas north of Taoyuan, where rain is expected, the rest of the country will see mostly sunny to partly cloudy weather, with temperatures around 15°C. Temperatures will rise slightly again on Sunday, staying between 15–20°C, with southern regions reaching higher temperatures of 20–25°C. As the Qingming holiday arrives — a time not only for travel but also tomb sweeping — apart from the north and eastern parts where rain is a concern, other areas will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Due to radiative cooling during nights and early mornings, temperatures will be low in the early morning and evening, with significant day-night temperature differences. Bring a light jacket or thin cold-weather clothing to avoid catching a chill.
