Cinnamoroll is turning 15 years old this year—the adorable character has captured the hearts of fans in Taiwan. To celebrate his birthday, the first-ever limited-time Cinnamoroll café in Taiwan, officially authorized by Sanrio Taiwan, has opened in March, the month of his birthday. The café is operating on a limited-time basis and will only be open until the end of August this year.

On the opening day, the General Manager of Sanrio Taiwan, a representative from French patisserie AMANDIER, and Cinnamoroll together cut a birthday cake beneath a giant Cinnamoroll coffee cup archway to celebrate his 15th anniversary. In the 2016 Sanrio Character Ranking poll in Japan, the ever-popular Cinnamoroll ranked second, rivaling the fame of Hello Kitty. Born on a cloud in the sky, Cinnamoroll is also nicknamed “Cinnamon Dog” because of his cinnamon roll-like curly tail, and is often seen flying through the sky using his big ears.

The beloved French patisserie brand AMANDIER Café joined forces with Sanrio Taiwan to create the Cinnamoroll-limited café that’s a hit with young people. Sanrio Taiwan oversaw the careful planning of every corner of the shop, hoping that fans can feel a sense of interaction with Cinnamoroll in every part of the space.

Even before entering, you’ll see Cinnamoroll lounging atop a one-story-tall coffee cup, welcoming every guest. As you bend down and step through the archway, you’re greeted by a world that will thrill any girl’s heart. The windows feature Cinnamoroll’s 15th-anniversary commemorative badges, and from the ordering counter to the dining area, playful Cinnamoroll designs abound—you can even spot him on the placemats and napkins. The café also introduces Cinnamoroll’s various friends from the story, helping everyone get more familiar with his world.

Launched just before Children’s Day, this limited-time café encourages parents to spend more quality time with their children, creating precious family memories. With thoughtfully designed menu options that allow both parents and kids to mix and match freely, it’s set to become a popular spot for family breaks.
