Finally decided: On November 6, the Thai government announced that from December to the end of January next year, travelers from 21 countries, including Taiwan, will be exempt from on-arrival visa fees.

The on-arrival visa fee is about 2,000 Thai baht, which is the most commonly used visa for Taiwanese travelers, allowing a 15-day stay—ideal for short trips. With this two-month exemption, travelers can save nearly NT$2,000 on their trip.

With Thailand offering free on-arrival visas, long queues may form at major airports. Travelers planning to visit Thailand and wishing to avoid extra waiting time for visa processing upon arrival can also apply for a paper visa in advance at the Thai Trade and Economic Office, at a cost of NT$1,200.
