Phoenix Park (English: Phoenix Park), located in Dublin, the capital of Ireland, was originally a royal deer park and is now an urban park. Covering a total area of 707 hectares, it is one of Europe’s largest parks.

The park features vast grasslands, forests, and tree-lined avenues. Since the 17th century, a herd of wild fallow deer has made their home here, and visitors come to the park in search of them.

Phoenix Park is also a beloved recreational spot for many Dubliners, featuring a horse racing track, zoo, Irish cricket ground, gardens, lakes, a racetrack, football fields, and several elegant 18th-century residences.

The Duke of Wellington Monument is a landmark within the park. Arthur Wellesley, an Irish-born general, led British forces to victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo and was later granted the title of Duke of Wellington.

The name “Phoenix Park” comes from the original Gaelic term “Fionn Uisce,” meaning “clear water.” It sounded similar to “Phoenix” to the British, hence the renaming, and the direct Chinese translation is “Phoenix Park.”
