30th Anniversary Celebration of the Zoo’s Relocation – Fun for All Ages with “Spooky Screams” at Halloween

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Taipei Zoo’s relocation from Yuanshan to Muzha. To celebrate the zoo’s birthday, a series of activities will be held in October, kicking off with the most popular Halloween events loved by both kids and adults, inviting all visitors to join in the fun.

The zoo’s Halloween events are divided into dynamic and static components. The static exhibits will be displayed at the Education Center, where animal specimens are transformed with masks, capes, and carrying jack-o’-lanterns in preparation for the Halloween parade. They also use dark humor to depict threats faced by wildlife such as roadkill, environmental pollution, and illegal poaching, raising awareness among children and adults about conservation crises. Meanwhile, the dynamic part will feature a “Spooky Screams”-themed creative costume show evening on October 29, with registration for the show opening on October 11.

In addition to the 30th-anniversary celebration, the zoo has organized many activities. Aside from the joyful puppet parade at 2 p.m. on the 9th, the zoo has also curated a list of 30 must-see animals and attractions within the park, including conservation and rescue species such as giant pandas, sika deer, leopard cats, Eurasian otters, and pangolins, allowing visitors to appreciate the importance of species conservation while enjoying the park.
