Hi everyone, long time no see！ Last time, we introduced 10 pet-friendly homestays in Kenting for those who like to travel with their pets. This time, we’re going to showcase pet-friendly restaurants in the Kenting area where you can enjoy meals with your dogs！

As a dog owner myself, I fully understand how challenging it can be to find restaurants that allow dogs when traveling. While there aren’t any pet restaurants in Kenting that specialize in pet food, there are plenty of pet-friendly eateries where you can dine with your furry friends. This time, we’ve put together a list of some great pet-friendly restaurants that we personally like, featuring a diverse selection from various areas so you’ll have more choices. If you’re having trouble deciding where to eat, we hope this guide can help！

Summer Point (Jialashui): Satisfying American-style burgers

Located in Jialashui, Summer Point is a surf-themed homestay with a restaurant on the first floor that serves a variety of American dishes such as burgers, sandwiches, and drinks. Non-guests are also welcome to dine here. It’s very close to the beach, and many people like to come here after surfing to relax and refuel.

The shop also has several super friendly and adorable dogs that you can play with XD

Good Days Brunch (Hengchun): A relaxing and comfortable brunch experience

This brunch spot is located in downtown Hengchun, right next to the West Gate city wall. We’ve previously written about it (see: Good Days Brunch). It’s a delicious restaurant that focuses on healthy ingredients. In addition to a variety of hearty and tasty brunch dishes, their freshly made berry smoothies and specialty sparkling juices are also highly recommended.

Their Hawaiian-style fruit yogurt with cereal “One Bowl” is refreshing and delicious—perfect for a morning pick-me-up.

They also serve the famous home-fired Taiwan No. 18 Red Jade Black Tea from Sun Moon Lake！ Tea lovers must give it a try.

The interior is cozy and warm, with walls adorned with photos taken by the travel-loving owner from around the world.

The shop also has a cute and gentle little black cat that loves to cuddle.

Honki食堂 (Hengchun): Heartwarming Japanese home cooking

Honki食堂 is one of my personal favorite restaurants. I’ve written about it before (see: Honki食堂). It specializes in Japanese home-style dishes, which are not only delicious but also clearly made with great care. The interior has a nostalgic Japanese vibe that creates a very warm atmosphere.

The shop also has two super adorable dogs, Mika & Miyoshi, who love to cuddle with customers！

HeR Alley Eats (Hengchun): Delicious freshly baked steamed buns and snacks

This “HeR Alley Food Space,” tucked away in a lane beside Houkongshan Park, is a small shop specializing in freshly baked steamed buns, offering a variety of sweet and savory flavors—perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea.

Although it’s located in an alley and a bit tricky to find, you can easily locate it by following the signs and the colorful murals in the lane. These painted walls are also part of the shop owner’s creative touch.

There are semi-open-air and outdoor seating areas, and restrooms are available. (Pet owners are requested to use the outdoor seating area.)

The freshly baked steamed buns feature pork tenderloin on top, which the owner marinates personally every day—super flavorful and delicious.

There are also sweet steamed buns to choose from, in both condensed milk and matcha flavors.

*Qiaobi’s Comment: Wow—this place is so cute. It’s perfect for taking promotional photos.

Pet Paradise (Hengchun): Pet-exclusive pool and afternoon tea

Next up is “Pet Paradise,” located at the East Gate of Hengchun. It’s a pet-friendly guesthouse with an on-site restaurant, and its biggest attraction is a huge pet-exclusive swimming pool. In addition to guests staying at the inn, the general public can also bring their dogs here to swim as long as they make a purchase at the restaurant.

This is Kenting’s first pet swimming pool. The female owner, who loves animals, hoped to create a paradise where both pets and humans could enjoy a happy vacation. After putting in a lot of effort and careful planning, she finally completed this guesthouse. It's not just for tourists—even local dog owners now have a great spot to bring their pets for fun.

The on-site restaurant at the guesthouse offers a variety of brunches and desserts made daily by the owner. You can sit by the pool while enjoying your meal and watching the dogs swim—it’s super therapeutic.

*Qiaobi’s Comment: Wow—this huge pool is simply amazing. We had so much fun.

Goat Tavern (Hengchun): A live house with band performances

This Goat Tavern in Hengchun is a live music venue, often hosting indie bands from around the country and globe on weekends, along with various themed parties. It’s a really fun restaurant that’s also very pet-friendly—the staff will even prepare a water bowl for your dog when you dine with them.

Besides the great music, their food is also fantastic, featuring Thai and Taiwanese stir-fries, as well as pasta—all cooked to perfection. They offer both set meals and group combos, making it suitable for both small and large groups.

The restaurant is open from 5 PM to 2 AM, later than most other local spots, making it a great choice for a late-night snack.

*Qiaobi’s Comment: Huh? Can I have a nightlife too?

DÉTEN Bistro (Longshui): Customized cuisine, great atmosphere

Next is DÉTEN, a French bistro located in the Longshui area. It’s a reservation-only restaurant where you can customize your meal according to your preferences and budget, or choose from fixed set menus.

The restaurant has an industrial-style vibe, and the atmosphere here in the evening is quite nice.

Because it’s reservation-only, all ingredients are fresh from the market and prepared the same day—very fresh and absolutely delicious.

The restaurant is also very pet-friendly, and there are several super cute resident cats. They’re super friendly and melt your heart with their affection.

*Qiaobi’s Comment: The atmosphere here is so lovely—I’ll sneak my boyfriend here for a date next time.

Ocean Rose (Shadao): A restaurant with unbeatable sea views

This Ocean Rose is located right across from Shadao Beach. Sitting at the outdoor seats, you can directly enjoy the stunning blue sky and sea view. The scenery is gorgeous—you can dine while taking in the view, creating a very relaxing atmosphere.

The shop offers a variety of brunch snacks and freshly squeezed juices. The owner, Sister Rose, is very easygoing, and as she keeps many dogs herself, the restaurant is also very pet-friendly—feel free to bring your furry friends along for a meal.

There’s also a quaint little garden seating area in the backyard.

*Qiaobi’s Review: The view here is amazing~ It feels so nice to enjoy the cool sea breeze.

Mary’s Juice Bar (Longpan): Super cute Manager Mary will keep you company while you dine.

This Mary’s Juice Bar is a long-standing spot in the Longpan area. Many who have visited Kenting are likely familiar with it. The place serves a variety of simple noodles, rice dishes, and freshly made juice smoothies. It’s located close to Longpan Park, making it a great choice for a meal when visiting the park.

The shop’s signature and popular resident dog, Manager Mary, draws many customers who come just to see her.

*Qiaobi’s Review: After a walk in Longpan Park, stopping by for a cool juice smoothie is the ultimate treat.

Everyday Live Seafood (Houbihhu): Fresh seafood caught by their own fishing boats.

When in Kenting, seafood is a must-try. So, for our final recommendation, we’re introducing “Everyday Live,” a pet-friendly seafood restaurant in Houbihhu. The owner, a former fisherman, owns two fishing boats, so all the seafood served is freshly caught daily—ensuring top-notch quality at very reasonable prices.

*Qiaobi’s Review: Even though I can’t eat it, coming in for some air conditioning is still pretty nice.
