Frequent travelers and off-road enthusiasts often say that China offers some of the most thrilling and unpredictable off-road environments in the world, and the southwestern region—especially Tibet—is considered a true "paradise" for off-road drivers. In recent years, driving to Tibet in an off-road vehicle has become a new trend, with more and more people planning road trips to the region. When traveling along the Sichuan-Tibet route, don’t forget to pack the following essentials:

       1. Sleeping bag: Due to the complex road conditions on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, traffic jams can occur unexpectedly and last for long periods, so be prepared for camping. A sleeping bag is essential.

       2. Enough changes of clothes: The temperature in Tibet varies greatly between day and night, so warm clothing is a must. It’s also best to bring waterproof clothes and shoes.

       3. Cameras, camcorders, and any other devices for recording and storing memories: The scenery along the way is breathtaking, and it’s not uncommon for each person to take eight or nine hundred photos.

       4. Toiletries, sunscreen (lotion or cream), lip balm, disinfectant wet wipes, toilet paper, stainless steel vacuum-insulated travel thermos.

       5. Essential personal medications: cold medicine (choose ones without chlorpheniramine), anti-inflammatory drugs, stomach medicine, headache powder, diarrhea medication, glucose injections (large vials), band-aids, mentholated oil, eye drops, etc.

       6. Snacks, vitamins, etc.

       7. Vehicle repair equipment is also essential. If you’re traveling in a convoy, it’s best to bring a two-way radio and a GPS satellite navigation system.

       8. Border permit or passport.
