The 2010 Gongliao Ocean Music Festival, the most anticipated summer music event, kicks off

The Ocean Music Festival is the most anticipated summer music event for Taiwanese youth every year. The first day of this year’s festival will feature the theme “Countdown of Memories, Reliving Glory,” inviting past award-winning bands to return to the main stage. Acts including Sodagreen, MC HotDog & Chang Chen-yue, Crowd Lu, Tizzy Bac, 88 Balaz, Fat Shady, Gods of Fire, Totem, Spinning Butterflies, and Mutated Genes will perform back-to-back, carrying strong legacy vibes.

The most thrilling part of the Ocean Music Festival — the “Ocean Music Awards” — will select winners for three awards: “Ocean Music Award,” “Jury Grand Prize,” and “Ocean Star” from the 10 bands chosen through preliminary rounds. A diverse range of musical styles such as punk rock, British rock, electro-rock, and hip-hop rock guarantees an exhilarating experience for audiences. On July 11, under the theme “World Rock Night,” the event will feature performances by Japan’s SuG, South Korea’s The Melody, China’s Slim Men, Hong Kong’s Josie & The Uni Boys, Thailand’s August, U.S.’s Beautiful Day, France’s Stuck in The Sound, and Taiwan’s legendary musician Hu Defu, bringing the curtain down on this year’s Ocean Music Festival.
