A mock battle between 400 "soldiers" from both sides reenacts the Chinese Civil War at Kinmen

The famous "Battle of Guningtou" took place on October 25, 1949, a battle that safeguarded Taiwan’s democracy; on October 22, 2049, another "cross-strait battle" will unfold at Kinmen. If you see "soldiers" dressed in the uniforms of both the Nationalist and Communist armies engaging in attack and defense at Guningtou Triangular Fort, don’t worry—this battle is fought for peace.

After the ROC military retreated to Taiwan, Kinmen shouldered the critical mission of defending the island. Today, as Kinmen gradually sheds its wartime image and turns toward tourism, the "Cross-Strait Peace Action" will be held at Triangular Fort on October 21 and 22. On the 21st, airsoft players from Taiwan, mainland China, Hong Kong, and Singapore will first gather at Kinmen, followed by a nighttime march along the Guningtou coastline. The highlight of the event on the 22nd is the "Cross-Strait Peace Action War" from 8:30 to 17:20, where 100 players will simulate the ROC army and 300 will simulate the Communist army in three attack-and-defense battles. The public can climb up to Triangular Fort to witness a reenactment of the cross-strait conflict that took place 62 years ago.

Each player will wear standardized gear including military uniforms, helmets, and bulletproof vests, while the fort exterior is also equipped with props such as landmines and tanks. Participants will even receive a day’s military pay, adding to the realism. In addition to recreating the landing and anti-landing battles of the Guningtou Campaign, from October 10 to October 23, Triangular Fort will also offer visitors free BB gun shooting experiences. Currently, over ten machine guns have been set up inside and outside the fort, with four daily sessions available (10:00, 11:00, 14:00, and 16:00), each lasting half an hour. Trained staff will guide visitors in free shooting experiences, firing at humanoid targets outside the fort.
