A Promise Under the Sacred Tree: Witness a Centennial Wedding at Alishan

The Alishan wedding event has entered its fifth year. This year’s “2011 Alishan New Impression – A Wedding Under the Sacred Tree, A Love Affair Between Mountain and Sea” has already seen the 16 registered couples complete their engagement ceremonies. This year, Taiwanese Mandopop queen Huang Fei has been invited to be the spokesperson for the event, and the grand wedding day is set for October 31st under the Xianglin Sacred Tree in Alishan.

This year’s event will offer free blessings to the 16 registered couples, including a recommended three-day, two-night classic honeymoon itinerary that combines coastal attractions — such as Chiayi Dongshi Fisherman’s Wharf and Aogu Wetlands — with mountain sites like the Eternal Love Bridge, Chiayi Chukou, and Leye Misty Trail. Also included are a 1950s-style retro pre-wedding party to end singledom, the main wedding ceremony, and a commemorative travel guide for the honeymoon trip.

On October 31st, visitors and couples are also welcome to join the celebration in Alishan, to bless the newlyweds together with the thousand-year-old sacred tree, leaving behind a memorable new impression of Alishan — a wedding under the sacred tree — and signing a love contract that lasts ten thousand years.
