Japan’s Aomori 4-Day, 3-Night Adventure Trip Calls for Bloggers to Join for Free

A world of snow-covered silver landscapes is a rare sight in Taiwan and one that many yearn to see. Now, there's a chance to experience it firsthand. Aomori Prefecture, located at the northernmost tip of Japan’s Honshu Island, is publicly recruiting bloggers to visit the area. From now until February 5, individuals aged 18 or older who have a blog can apply for the “Snow Country Aomori Call” campaign by filling out an entry form on the campaign website for a chance to visit Aomori for free and enjoy a 4-day, 3-night snow adventure.

Those interested can apply by filling out the call form on the campaign website to qualify for the Snow Country Adventure trip and also enter a lucky draw for apple-themed gifts. Five selected bloggers will embark on a 4-day, 3-night trip to Aomori from February 17 to February 20. The package includes round-trip airfare, accommodation, local meals, attraction entrance fees, and transportation—all free of charge. Upon returning, the five bloggers are required to write at least three blog posts about their experience, each with a minimum of 600 words and accompanied by eight or more related local photos.

The highlight of this adventure is exploring the tree ice formations of Mount Hakkoda. Between January and February, influenced by cold winds from the Siberian Plateau, the mountain is famous for its stunning tree ice spectacle. Visitors can take a cable car up the mountain and stroll among the tree ice in the sub-zero chill. On clear days, you can even enjoy views of the Tsugaru Plain and Mount Iwaki, also known as the “Tsugaru Fuji.” You can also ride the renowned Tsugaru Railway sightseeing train, which features a seasonally limited heated car compartment in winter. One of Aomori’s local specialties is dried squid grilled over a coal-fired stove, perfect for enjoying while taking in the vast snowy scenery.
