Newcomers to Koh Samui can get married in a traditional Thai ceremony on the day—with all wedding expenses fully covered

Following last year’s highly acclaimed Chiang Mai wedding event, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is once again offering 50 spots this year, inviting couples to hold beach weddings on Koh Samui. The wedding date is set for February 24, and in collaboration with multiple travel agencies such as Shih Hsing, Lion Travel, and Southeast Travel, they have launched a 5-day, 4-night package that includes a traditional Thai wedding on Koh Samui. All attire, ceremony activities, and meals on the wedding day are free for the couples, but they will need to cover the travel agency package costs, which range from approximately NT$28,000 to NT$34,000.

This year, Thailand is focusing on weddings as a key theme to promote tourism, aiming to invite couples from around the world to hold traditional Thai weddings. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has chosen February 24 for Taiwanese couples to tie the knot. All participating couples can experience an authentic Thai wedding culture, which includes a bridal procession, blessings from monks, a traditional local lunch, and the opportunity to take sweet Thai-style wedding photos on the beach. The entire wedding normally costs about 50,000 Thai baht, but now it’s completely free. Couples dreaming of an overseas wedding while wanting to save money might want to consider joining.

To offer an added incentive for couples signing up for this package, Shih Hsing Travel has reduced the originally planned package price of NT$33,800 to NT$28,800 (taxes excluded). The package offered by Huatai Travel is priced at NT$31,900 (taxes included).
