EVA Air’s Premium “Royal Laurel Class” Begins Flights to New York on June 2

Celebrating its 21st anniversary, EVA Air officially announced today (May 3) that the first 777-300ER aircraft equipped with “Royal Laurel Class” will be deployed on the Taipei–New York route starting June 2. Passengers on long-haul flights can enjoy greater comfort with fully flatbed seats, premium champagne, high-quality wellness meals, renowned BVLGARI amenity kits, and seamless connectivity with personal electronic devices – all on non-stop round-trip services.

EVA Air’s “Royal Laurel Class” cabin upgrade project, which cost approximately USD 100 million (equivalent to NT$3 billion), is expected to equip all 15 aircraft with the new class by August 2013. The initial Taipei–New York service, operating flights on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, will initially run four times per week, increasing to five flights per week starting June 18. By the end of August, the Royal Laurel Class will be available across all Taipei–New York flights. By the end of this year, the service will expand to the Taipei–Los Angeles route, and in 2013, it will be introduced on routes to San Francisco, Toronto, Paris, Amsterdam, and London.

Offering fully flatbed cabins on long-haul routes is a standard service among leading international airlines. Currently, both Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines have designed premium cabin facilities for their top-tier customers. Following the launch of its Hello Kitty livery aircraft and the acquisition of the business center at Songshan Airport, EVA Air has now introduced the “Royal Laurel Class,” further enhancing Taiwan’s aviation industry’s global competitiveness.
