Enjoy a flower sea concert to capture little joys in Tainan and win prizes

One of the series of events for the 2012 "Hutoupi Jacaranda Flower Festival," the "Romantic Flower Sea Concert and Special Talent Performances," will kick off its first show tomorrow (June 9). The concerts will take place on three consecutive Saturdays and Sundays — June 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24 — from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM on the water stage, which can accommodate 1,000 people. In addition to traditional music, the performances will also feature various special talent acts to enhance the visual enjoyment for the audience.

One of the performing groups, the Huasheng Orchestra, will present not only saxophone, violin, flute, and erhu performances, but also dynamic special talent acts such as the "Electronic Three Princes Rock Show," "Whimsical Magic Stunt Show," and "Pink Lady Classical & Charm Dance Show." Another group — the Caijing Orchestra — is made up of seasoned musicians, including keyboardist Jiang Desheng, who has toured with the band Power Station, and magician Lin Le, who has appeared on well-known programs such as "Pig Brother’s Show" and "Diamond Nightclub." The Caijing Orchestra will perform themed shows, including nostalgic golden hits, indigenous band performances, and Latin jazz, paired with special talent acts such as flair bartending, magic face-changing, and cross-dressing performances for a series of exciting shows.

In addition, to encourage travel enthusiasts and photography lovers to document their journeys, the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau is hosting the "Capture the Beauty of Tainan Photography Contest" from now until June 30. This photography contest focuses on Tainan’s cultural heritage sites and Michelin-recommended star-rated attractions, including the Michelin-starred sites such as Anping Tree House, Taisugar Trading Company, Anping Fort, National Museum of Taiwan Literature, Tainan Confucius Temple, Sihedian Martial Temple, Grand Queen of Heaven Temple, and Chihkan Tower. The contest will award prizes of NT$30,000 for first place, NT$20,000 for second, and NT$10,000 for third.
