The Sanxia Museum Launches a Decade-Long Nostalgic Photo Collection Campaign

April 24 is the 10th anniversary of the Sanxia Museum’s opening, and on April 26 and 27, the New Taipei City Archaeology Festival will be grandly held, where the public can visit the museum to experience the fun of archaeology. In addition, the Sanxia Museum’s Facebook fan page has launched the “Looking Back at Ten Years – Nostalgic Photo Collection” campaign starting today, inviting the public to recall the past and share their treasured photos and the stories behind them. Through these images, the museum aims to connect its past and present.

Located in Bali District, New Taipei City, at the left bank where the freshwater and seawater of the Tamsui River meet, the Sanxia Museum was established where prehistoric humans were found to have lived 1,800 to 500 years ago, along with significant iron smelting remains. After years of preparation by the New Taipei City Government, it officially opened on April 24, 2003, becoming an important archaeological museum and an educational center that promotes knowledge of archaeology, ethnology, and Taiwan’s prehistory. Blessed with natural landscapes of mountains, sea, and river, coupled with its uniquely designed architecture, it has long been a popular dating spot for couples and a favorite location for newlyweds to take wedding photos, as well as a prime filming site for idol dramas.

 

Anyone who has visited the Sanxia Museum and taken photos within its premises can participate in the “Looking Back at Ten Years – Nostalgic Photo Collection” campaign.
