During Taiwan High Speed Rail’s Mother’s Day transport period (May 9 to 12), in order to maximize transport capacity and help passengers smoothly arrange their holidays and return to work, it has been decided to add one more northbound train (No. 1280) departing from Zuoying Station at 18:12 on Sunday, May 11—the peak travel time on Mother’s Day. This train will make stops at Taichung, Banqiao, and Taipei (arriving at 19:54). Passengers may purchase tickets for this additionally added train starting from midnight on the early morning of the 8th.

At the same time, depending on crowd levels at stations, Taiwan High Speed Rail will also dynamically add all-seats-free-seating trains (excluding business class) stopping at all stations during key periods such as southbound services after 14:00 on Friday, May 9, and northbound services after 12:00 noon on Sunday, May 11, to help transport passengers.

During Taiwan High Speed Rail’s Mother’s Day transport period, a total of 39 additional services have been planned over the four days, making up a total of 601 scheduled train services. Each train will also be equipped with 3 to 4 cars offering free seating, providing passengers with more flexible and convenient travel options. Passengers are welcome to make use of convenience stores partnered with Taiwan High Speed Rail, or the “T Express” mobile app for quick ticket booking and clearance, to reserve and pick up tickets as early as possible; alternatively, they may use an EasyCard co-branded card to enter directly by tapping in for free seating (automatic top-up must be activated in advance), helping avoid station crowds and easily plan high-speed rail travel during the Mother’s Day holiday.
