Spring has sprung—head to Kaohsiung’s colorful flower seas!

With the Lunar New Year here, it’s the perfect time for flower appreciation again. The Kaohsiung City Government team has decorated urban corners with a variety of beautiful flowers in large parks, green spaces, major roads, and attractions, andthe flower seas in Qishan, Meinong, Siaolin, and Liouguei, covering an area of about 80 hectares, are connected via transportation routes and paired with local festive events, allowing visitors to enjoy the blooms while also experiencing the rich local culture.

With the goal of making Kaohsiung a livable garden city, the Kaohsiung City Government has taken advantage of the post-harvest fallow period to sow colorful plants such as cosmos, zinnias, and sunflowers in Qishan, Meinong, Siaolin, Liouguei, Qiaotou, and Yong’an districts. The vibrant floral landscapes are now gradually blooming. Fromthe exit of Aozihdi MRT Station, you can see a floral emblem composed of variously colored flowers including marigolds, salvia, scarlet sage, petunias, snapdragons, and begonias, offering a visual feast of yellow, red, purple, pink, and white. Meanwhile, atthe Central Park MRT Station, clusters of delphiniums, Shirley poppies, digitalis, and marguerites are arranged in an eye-catching display. This rich and diverse flower field has quietly begun to bloom!The flower viewing season runs from now until March.
