Mandarin Oriental collaborates with luxury skincare brand to launch Diamond White Caviar Afternoon Tea

In recent years, cross-industry afternoon tea collaborations between hotels and the fashion world have been all the rage. For the first time, Taipei Mandarin Oriental Hotel has teamed up with the Swiss luxury skincare brand la prairie to unveil the “Diamond White Caviar Afternoon Tea Feast” at The Lounge. The promotion runs from March 1 to 31, with prices starting from NT$1,300 + 10% per person.

Drawing inspiration from the rare delicacy of caviar, the hotel’s French executive pastry chef, Guillaume Drouin, has meticulously crafted a colorful array of tempting sweets. Guests who enjoy the afternoon tea will also receive a limited-edition la prairie Diamond White Caviar series gift. The dessert selection includes chestnut vanilla cream with fresh blueberries, blackcurrant coulis with Chantilly cream, 70% dark chocolate mousse with citrus coulis, vanilla lemon cream puffs with pearl crunch balls and cherry coulis dark chocolate bonbon.

This afternoon tea set also includes two traditional British scones that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, along with five specially prepared savory items incorporating caviar elements: smoked salmon with sour cream and caviar, deviled eggs, French foie gras with Port wine and caviar, cauliflower tartlet with truffle mousse, and flying fish roe cheese bites with chives.

Meanwhile, the Mandarin Pastry Kitchen has introduced the “la prairie Diamond White Caviar Vanilla Cake.” The bottom layer features a dense-textured sponge biscuit, followed by apricot coulis and yuzu coulis, then a layer of lemon cream, and topped with delicate vanilla cheese mousse. Each cake is priced at NT$1,350. Purchasers will also receive a complimentary 5ml bottle of la prairie’s Caviar Beauty Plumping Essence (limited quantity, while supplies last).
