A total of 52 artists from Japan, Canada, and Taiwan have created 40 stunning waterfront art lantern displays, crafting an extraordinary "Yanshui Night Banquet" scene. The Tainan City Government’s highlight event of the New Year, the "2015 Moon River Port Lantern Festival," will light up at 7:00 PM on Valentine’s Day, February 14th!

The "2015 Moon River Port Lantern Festival" takes the creative theme of the "Yanshui Night Banquet." It unfolds across five major themes: “Listening to Music,” “Watching Dance,” “Resting,” “Playing Soft Music,” and “Dispersing the Feast.” Five main groups of participating artists combine sound, video, and performance art to interact with the public. Merging traditional themes with modern installation art techniques, the festival weaves local customs and the ambient atmosphere of Yanshui into a distinctive night banquet ambiance. Running from February 14th to March 15th for 30 days, this year’s festival invites domestic and international art teams to collaborate on creating 34 illuminated art installations, 6 bridge light environments, as well as a “Lane Lantern Area” that incorporates sites such as Qiaonan Old Street, Wangye Temple Alley, Liancheng Alley, and Octagonal Tower, plus a “Light Environment” utilizing the lakeside and wooded areas. The result is a lantern art experience that integrates the river harbor, environment, Yanshui locals, and local culture—spectacular both day and night, promising an unforgettable display!
