The history of Spain’s seasonal transhumance festival is long-standing. In the past, Spanish shepherds would migrate their livestock from north to south according to the seasons for grazing, and the grazing routes were locally known as transhumance paths.1273Years ago, the then King of Spain, based on the importance, geographical location, and usability of these transhumance routes, established royal regulations to protect and manage them. These routes, protected under royal decree, later came to be known as Royal Transhumance Routes.
