Celebrate Father’s Day with the Hello Kitty Painted Train & Alishan Forest Adventure

The newly launched New Taroko Hello Kitty Painted Train, which has been hugely popular since its debut, saw the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) host the “Hello Kitty Goes to Alishan – ‘Forest Adventure’” event on Father’s Day. The train departed from Nangang to Pingtung at 8:26 a.m. on August 8, making stops in Songshan, Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Changhua, Chiayi, Tainan, and Kaohsiung along the way. The return trip left Pingtung Station at 4:18 p.m. the same day.

The TRA also specially collaborated with the Alishan Forest Railway. On that day, two additional services were added between Alishan Forest Railway’s Chiayi and Beimen stations, departing Chiayi Station at 1:20 p.m. and 1:50 p.m., and returning from Beimen Station at 3:20 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. Visitors can explore the train depot park, visit the Hinoki Forest Life Village, and experience local agricultural specialties, creative markets, and woodcraft exhibits – perfect for family fun.

The New Taroko Hello Kitty Painted Train runs regularly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as trains 426 and 441, traveling back and forth between Shulin and Taitung. Tickets for “Hello Kitty Goes to Alishan – ‘Forest Adventure’” went on sale online starting at midnight on August 3. For the forest railway section, the one-way fare between Chiayi and Beimen is NT$38, and tickets can be purchased at Chiayi Station after 12 p.m. on the day of travel.
