First Look at the Highlights of the 3D Phantom Features in the 30th Anniversary Pixar Exhibition

This exhibition specially airlifted nearly 400 precious original manuscripts to Taiwan, from the earliest charcoal sketches and color scripts to 3D models, allowing you to glimpse the creative journey of Pixar’s artists. Without their conceptualization of characters and scenes, there would be no lifelike and vivid computer animations. Therefore, to understand the creative process behind Pixar’s animations, one must go back to the source of creativity – the manuscripts.

The two major installations in this exhibition, the "3D Phantom Box" and the "Artistic Landscape," let you become a Pixar animator for a day and have a blast. Pixar has placed classic characters from "Toy Story" inside the 3D Phantom Box, using the persistence of vision effect to make Buzz Lightyear and Woody come to life right before your eyes. The "Artistic Landscape" condenses years of manuscripts into short films, allowing you to envision 3D spaces from 2D hand-drawn drafts just like a producer and experience firsthand how animations are brought to life from scratch.
