Affected by international situations (such as North Korea's missile tests and the French presidential election), the safe-haven currency yen once surged in value. During the peak of cherry blossom season, many travelers to Japan had no choice but to exchange at higher rates despite the expense. Recently, the New Taiwan dollar has strengthened, the US dollar has weakened, and the yen has also fallen back to a bank selling rate of 0.2737, marking a rare opportunity to exchange yen at a rate below 0.275.

In May, many people will visit Ashikaga Flower Park to admire the vast purple wisteria blooms or head to Hitachi Seaside Park to see the bluenemophila flower fields. May is also the birthday month of Tokyo Skytree—those planning a trip to Japan should take advantage of the current opportunity to exchange yen.
