Late spring to early summer is the season when snow-white Tung blossoms flurry across the land, as May snow begins to fall all over Taiwan. Strolling down streets blanketed with Tung blossoms is both romantic and colorful. The Hakka Tung Blossom Festival takes place on April 29 and 30 at Hebao Tung Blossom Park, Erxi Park, and Beibu Park in Gukeng Township. In addition to blossom viewing hikes and picnics, there are also a series of activities including Hakka cultural performances, DIY food experiences, and Tung blossom lectures, making it one of the key spots to enjoy the blossoms each year.
