Christmas light displays attract crowds of tourists and photography enthusiasts every year, all eager to capture and collect the festive scenes. The most densely packed displays in Taiwan are undoubtedly found in Taipei’s Xinyi District. In addition to the New York-style setting by North-South Love Sharing, collaborations with popular characters such as the "Huldu Animals," Hello Kitty, and Chibi Maruko-chan at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department stores across Taiwan, as well as Disney-themed displays at SOGO, also draw large numbers of visitors. Other bustling events like the New Taipei Christmas Town, Tainan Christmas Carnival, and Pingtung Christmas Season also attract many tourists. We’ve rounded up five dreamy must-photograph spots—make sure to experience the warm festive atmosphere this holiday and year-end season.

1. Mandarin Oriental Taipei
 
The huge golden cake at the hotel entrance, adorned with falling snowflakes, is a must-photograph spot for everyone who passes by, regardless of gender. The blue-lit street creates a dreamy and beautiful scene.

There’s a snowfall period between the two Christmas trees, adding to the romantic ambiance.

The twin Christmas trees in the hotel’s interior courtyard are another hot spot for visitors. The European-style decorations and artificial snowfall heighten the festive spirit to the fullest.

2. Bellavita Shopping Mall

Bellavita’s Christmas European-style town offers multiple photo spots, complemented by the central plaza fountain and towering, hanging light displays, recreating a 19th-century retro and romantic London street under the theme “Christmas Tales of Old London.”
 

Both the Christmas tree and the British street scenes feature a vintage style. You can go inside or even climb onto the vehicles to take photos. The interior has carefully designed detailed settings, making it perfect for photography enthusiasts to explore and snap away.
 

3. Frozen Town – Crystal Christmas Tree Light Show
 
The Frozen Town special exhibition held at Taipei 101’s Water Dance Plaza has attracted throngs of children and adults since its opening. The crystal Christmas tree, a rare blue-hued version, stands 12 meters tall and captures the cool beauty of a snowy wonderland whether photographed in daylight or at night.

4. Taichung Liuchuan Christmas Carnival

Boasting the title of Taiwan’s only underwater Christmas tree, it quickly became a popular photo spot. The dynamic light show and water feature designs create an even more romantic scene when reflected on the water’s surface. The Christmas tree will be lit until the evening of December 26, while the surrounding light displays will continue until March 4, 2018.
