“Feng Shiyeh Painted Plane” Takes Flight – Selina Jen Stars as Sweet Ambassador

Recognizing the tourism potential in Kinmen, the “Feng Shiyeh Painted Plane,” jointly introduced by TransAsia Airways and Taiwan Innovation & Development Co., was officially launched on March 12, with Selina Jen serving as its spokesperson. The initiative hopes to further invigorate Kinmen’s local tourism market.

The Feng Shiyeh Painted Plane is the fifth special livery aircraft of TransAsia Airways and the second ATR-series plane to feature such a design. TransAsia stated that each collaboration for these painted planes undergoes careful evaluation, partnering with suitable brands across industries, which is why every new release captures significant market attention.

TransAsia’s first painted plane was unveiled in 2003, marking the beginning of its cross-industry collaboration with international payment network MasterCard. This was followed by successful partnerships with the Mayday band, Macau’s Global Shopping Channel (endorsed by actress Carina Lau), and Volkswagen. The most recent painted plane was launched in May 2011 to commemorate the airline’s 60th anniversary.

The main visual of the painted plane features the familiar image of the Feng Shiyeh, displayed prominently at both the nose and tail sections. The colorful design delivers a striking visual impact. The smiling Feng Shiyeh conveys a relaxed and joyful image, with its design incorporating the “Ru Yi” (wish-fulfilling) symbol for good fortune, while the “heart” emblem on its chest communicates a warm welcome and a sense of reassurance—embodying the service spirit of “smile, good fortune, and love.”

Selina Jen, who is well-known for her sweet and intelligent persona, has also been invited to be the spokesperson for the “Kinmen Feng Shiyeh Duty-Free Shopping Street” under the Taiwania Group, adding an extra touch of happiness to the inaugural flight of this painted plane.
