Artist Ms. Liu Rongying combines the free-spirited elegance of the East with the refined delicacy of the West. Her latest solo exhibition, "Pure Dust Realm," is being held at the Tainan Cultural Center until April 7 (Sunday). Visitors can take advantage of today and tomorrow to experience the artistic inspiration at the Tainan Cultural Center.

Liu Rongying was born in Tainan City, Taiwan, and graduated from the Department of Fine Arts and the Graduate Institute of Design at National Taiwan Normal University. From the retrocession of Taiwan to the relocation of the government, many outstanding ink painting talents from mainland China as well as elites in Western painting from France and Japan were successively appointed to teach at the Department of Fine Arts at NTNU. During her learning and growth, in the field of ink painting, she received guidance from professors such as Lin Yushan, Sun Yunsheng, Zheng Shanshi, Liang Xiuzhong, Luo Fang, and Huang Changhui. Coming from an academic background, she was nurtured and influenced by Taiwan's top-tier faculty. Due to the unique regional environment of Taiwan, she has consistently pursued research and creation in flower-and-bird ink painting. Starting from tradition and classicism, Liu Rongying infused modern perspectives and techniques. While preserving the essence of ancient art, she broke conventions to infuse new meanings into her flower-and-bird works, creating a unique and distinctive painting style.

"Extracting a pure and tranquil spiritual realm from chaos, which contains infinite and vast life energy — a kind of butterfly effect energy existing in the dynamic yet still state of Taiji. For the second stop of the 2013 Liu Rongying 'Pure Dust Realm' painting exhibition, I chose to return to the cultural center in the old city. In addition to presenting several new works on 50-number canvases depicting the dynamic trajectories of chaotic stardust, I also utilized spatial decoration to arrange two screen-like interfaces, materializing the penetrative spatial characteristics of the Chaos and Purity series within the exhibition space. This innovative display method left a deep impression on visitors, who frequently took photos or videos on their phones or cameras to bring home these interactive visuals."
