The vote for the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ “Taiwan’s Top 10 Happiness & Fun Travel Itineraries” is heating up. To boost their rankings, Zhao Xinping, Director of Taipei City Government’s Tourism and Travel Bureau, popular blogger Wenwan, Liu Jiahao, PR Manager of Taipei 101, and Zhou Shuimei, Chairman of Taipei City Business District Industry Federation, have joined forces to rally for votes. By scanning the QR code on the Taipei 101 mascot featured in the campaign’s main visual using your mobile phone, you can cast your vote and receive a limited-edition ticket card holder designed by Wenwan along with an itinerary map.
Zhao Xinping stated that in conjunction with the “Taiwan’s Top 10 Happiness & Fun Travel Itineraries” competition, the Tourism and Travel Bureau has carefully selected popular attractions centered around Taipei Main Station as the starting and ending point, integrating a rich variety of travel elements such as food, accommodation, sightseeing, and shopping. They have curated the “Classic Taipei Pilgrimage Fun” one-day happiness & fun itinerary and the “Diverse Taipei Leisure Fun” two-day happiness & fun itinerary. Leveraging Taipei City’s diverse public transportation options, they offer both domestic and international travelers the chance to experience the city’s local beauty and cuisine.

Interestingly, the routes of the two itineraries largely overlap with the attractions introduced in The New York Times’ feature article on how to spend 36 hours in Taipei, such as popular Chinese breakfast spots, Maokong, the National Palace Museum, the Wanhua Historic District, Taipei 101, Yongkang Street, and Eslite Bookstore. Both itineraries have also recently made it to the finals together.
To encourage the public to vote online for Taipei, a special “Taipei. My Happy Itinerary” themed website has been set up. Visitors are invited to share photos of scenic spots from their happy memories of traveling in Taipei on the website, along with words expressing their impressions and emotions about the city. Participants have the chance to win “happiness items,” as well as a happiness travel goodie bag containing rewards such as weekday lunch vouchers at Michelin-recommended restaurants and accommodation coupons at tourist hotels. Popular bloggers Wenwan, Qiang Yazhen, Milly, Lin Yifen, and Duan Huilin have also been invited to write and share their personal stories about Taipei, themed “Taipei Is So Fun to Visit,” “Taipei Is So Friendly,” and “Taipei Is So Happy.” The goal is to leverage the influence of these bloggers’ fan communities to rally more votes for Taipei’s happiness travel itineraries.

In addition to writing about how happy it is to travel in Taipei, Wenwan has also specially designed Q-version ticket card holders and happiness travel maps for the event. Wenwan shared that she grew up in Taipei and has deep feelings for the city. Taipei has so many unique and popular attractions where you can feel the joy of travel anytime, anywhere. Liu Jiahao, PR Manager of Taipei 101, explained Taipei’s height, depth, and breadth — highlighting the world’s tallest green building, Taipei 101, its profound cultural creativity found in landmarks such as the National Palace Museum, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, and Huashan 1914 Creative Park, as well as its diverse cuisine ranging from hot spring dishes to alleyway snacks. He hopes everyone will vote for Taipei, helping its popularity soar just like Taipei 101.
Zhou Shuimei, Chairman of Taipei City Business District Industry Federation, also called on everyone to support Taipei, emphasizing that the city offers countless fun, delicious, shoppable, stay-worthy, and travel-friendly elements. In addition to internationally iconic attractions and having the most traveler-friendly environments along its itineraries nationwide, Taipei boasts a wide range of transportation options including buses, the MRT, cable cars, sightseeing boats, and YouBikes. These align perfectly with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ selection criteria for this year’s “Fall in Love with Public Transport” theme. She will also gather all business districts and shops to rally behind Taipei.
