Ancient Wonders of Tamsui Awake at Night – Stay Overnight at the “Little White House” and Sleep with History

Want to go on a heritage adventure in Tamsui? Or perhaps spend the night in the “Little White House”? The New Taipei City Government’s Department of Cultural Affairs has specially organized the “Ancient Wonders of Tamsui Awake at Night” experience camp, allowing children from third to sixth grade to explore Tamsui’s historic sites more deeply through a 3-day, 2-night program and directly experience the area’s unique local life.

The “Ancient Wonders of Tamsui Awake at Night” experience camp has been running for six years and has attracted thousands of schoolchildren. The most unique aspect of the program is staying overnight at the former Office of the Saltwater Frontier Customs Tax Officer, known as the “Little White House.” Staying in a historic site and getting close to history will be an unforgettable experience for the children.

The 3-day, 2-night activities use interactive teaching methods to increase children’s interest in Tamsui. Whether it’s going on a treasure hunt in Tamsui Old Street, following in the footsteps of Dr. George Leslie Mackay to learn about Tamsui’s heritage, or cycling along the Bali Left Bank and enjoying the breeze. To foster team spirit, the program also includes group competitions that encourage children to explore historical sites and experience the unique local cultural life of Tamsui.

Registration for the “Ancient Wonders of Tamsui Awake at Night” experience camp begins on June 5. Each session is a 3-day, 2-night program, with four sessions scheduled: July 15–17, July 22–24, July 29–31, and August 5–7. Each session is limited to 30 participants.
