Walk on the CloudWalk bridge and be surrounded by sea of clouds!

HokkaidoHoshino Resorts Tomamu has long attracted visitors to its cloud observation deck, where you can get up close to drifting clouds. But starting September 1 this year, an even more eye-catching platform will debut.

Dubbed “Cloud Walk,” it offers a 210-degree view of the sea of clouds for an even more breathtaking visual experience.

This 200-meter-long walkway is intentionally built on a slope, designed with winding decks. When the sea of clouds floats across the 10-meter elevation difference, it creates the illusion of walking above the clouds. Additionally, the walkway is designed to let visitors enjoy a stroll amidst the sea of clouds.

To visit the walkway and see the sea of clouds, timing is key. The viewing season runs from May to October each year, with only a 40% chance of the clouds appearing. You can choose to stay at Hoshino Resorts Tomamu at the mountain base, as the hotel lobby provides advance forecasts of daily sunrise times and the probability of sea of clouds formations. At sunrise, simply turn on the TV in your room and switch to the resort’s broadcast channel to watch the live scene from the mountaintop observation deck in real time. When the screen displays the message 【Now, the sea of clouds is beautifully forming】, you can head straight to take the cable car up the mountain. Non-guests can also purchase tickets and hike up as usual.
