Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Bruce Lee's Passing – A Special Bruce Lee Exhibition in Hong Kong for Five Years

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the passing of international kung fu icon Bruce Lee, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum launched a special five-year-long Bruce Lee exhibition starting July 20. The exhibit showcases over 600 items related to Bruce Lee, including classic films, costumes, personal belongings, and even the gym and study room he frequently used during his lifetime.

Themed “Bruce Lee: Kung Fu, Art, Life,” this five-year-long exhibition features its first batch of items primarily from the TV series “The Green Hornet” and the documentary “The Brilliant Life of Bruce Lee” jointly produced by Hong Kong filmmakers. Classic Bruce Lee films such as “The Big Boss,” “Fist of Fury,” “Way of the Dragon,” and “Enter the Dragon” will also be displayed successively. Notably, Bruce Lee’s iconic yellow jumpsuit is a highlight of the exhibition.

Bruce Lee had multiple identities: a kung fu superstar, the father of Jeet Kune Do and nunchucks, and also a skilled cha-cha dancer. The organizers specially invited a sculptor to create a 3.5-meter-tall bronze statue capturing Bruce Lee’s signature side kick, which has become a major attraction.

The “Bruce Lee: Kung Fu, Art, Life” exhibition runs until 2018. Tickets can be purchased nowvia the Hong Kong Heritage Museum website. Admission is HK$10, with free entry every Wednesday. The museum is open daily, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on holidays.
