Typhoon Trami is intensifying, with multiple events including the Taitung Hot Air Balloon Festival, the Zhushan Skywalk in Nantou, and Kenting National Park announcing the suspension of all activities.

The Taitung Luye Township Guojijie Hot Air Balloon Festival has suspended aerial tours on the 21st.

The official website of the Guojijie Hot Air Balloon Festival stated that to avoid safety risks to flights due to the typhoon, the popular “aerial tour” activity will be fully suspended on the 21st. The public planning to attend is advised to take note.

Popular Nantou attractions, the Sky Bridge and Zhushan Skywalk, will be closed all day on the 21st.

The Nantou County Government stated that the tourism department has begun typhoon preparedness measures. To ensure visitor safety, the Sky Bridge and Zhushan Skywalk will be temporarily closed. Visitors planning to go are urged to cancel their trips. Both attractions will remain closed all day on the 21st. Whether operations will resume on the 22nd will depend on the typhoon’s movement and will be announced separately.

Kenting National Park has raised red warning flags on its beaches.

Typhoon Trami is hitting Taiwan just as the mid-autumn tide peaks, bringing not only strong winds and high waves but also potential seawater backflow. The Kenting National Park Administration has issued an instant notice on its website, putting up red flags on the beaches and advising the public to stay away from the shore until the typhoon passes to avoid danger.

The “2023 Kenting National Park Youth Workshop,” originally scheduled for August 22–23, has been postponed. Details of the rescheduled event will be announced later on the official website. The public is advised to stay updated.

Yushan National Park announces temporary closure of the park.

The Yushan National Park Administration stated that to prevent possible disasters caused by heavy wind and rain, the public is advised not to enter the park for the time being. During the typhoon period, any previously issued park entry permits will be voided effective immediately. Those wishing to enter must reapply, and permit processing will resume only after the typhoon has passed.
