The 2013 Hsinchu Art & Motion Festival Kicks Off on October 10th – Experience the Best of Both Dynamic and Static Fun

What? Art exhibitions and fun runs can be held together? That’s right! Hsinchu is here to give you an alternative Double Tenth celebration. The 2013 Hsinchu Art & Motion Festival will “joyfully” host the “1010 National Day Superhero Run” on October 10th, along with the nearly two-week-long “Urban Land Art Exhibition.” There will also be a “National Day Fireworks Show” to join in the festivities.

The “1010 National Day Superhero Run,” with a total prize pool of nearly NT$50,000, saw enthusiastic registration and filled up in less than an hour. The run is divided into a 10KM competitive group racing toward the Expo Dome and a 3KM fun group occupying Public Road 5. Both categories will come with a superhero suit (including full costume, a call-to-action leaflet, transformation instructions, and more), and superhero-themed phone booths and photo zones will be set up along the route, giving participants a taste of the “Super” life.

The “Urban Land Art Exhibition” runs from October 10th to October 22nd. The organizers have invited eight artists, including Wu Gengzhen, to create art installations along the stretch from Hsinchu Railway Station to Hsinchu City Hall, aiming to blend with the characteristics of the urban streetscape and give Hsinchu a new artistic identity.
