Budget Airline Skymark Airlines Uses "Beauty Strategy" with Mini-Skirted Flight Attendants on New Aircraft

The global aviation industry is highly competitive, with airlines pulling out all the stops to stand out in the skies—not just by competing on aircraft types and services, but also by playing the "beauty card" to attract attention, hoping to boost passengers’ willingness to fly through young and beautiful flight attendants. Japan’s budget airline Skymark Airlines recently announced that starting March 2014, it will introduce the new Airbus A330 aircraft. Along with the fleet upgrade, the airline’s flight attendant uniforms have also gotten a makeover—featuring figure-hugging cobalt blue mini skirts that flaunt sleek curves, with cabin crew all around 20 years old!

Skymark Airlines is Japan’s first domestic carrier to operate under the "low-cost airline" concept, primarily running numerous domestic routes. According to Japan’s Asahi Shimbun, Skymark Airlines President Shinichi Nishikubo recently announced that starting March 2014, the airline will introduce the Airbus A330, gradually replacing its existing 737-800 planes that currently operate routes from Haneda to Fukuoka, Naha, and Sapporo by 2015. In addition, to ensure even economy class passengers can enjoy more spacious seating, the seat count will be reduced from 440 to 270.

With the introduction of the new aircraft, the flight attendants serving on the A330 will also wear new uniforms. The cobalt blue fitted suits paired with matching mini skirts and yellow scarves accentuate the friendly smiles of the cabin crew, making them even more delightful to the eye. Shinichi Nishikubo stated that to emphasize a "youthful image," the average age of flight attendants on the A330 will be around 20.

After the unveiling of the sexy new uniforms, they sparked heated discussions among netizens.
