To welcome the New Year, the Northeast Coast & Yilan National Scenic Area Administration and the New Taipei Gongliao Farglory Hotel have jointly launched the “Light Spots Fulong” series of events. Today (the 15th), the event officially kicked off. During this period, visitors to Fulong can not only admire colorful creative light zones but also enjoy discounts on hot springs and gourmet food. They can also watch the Geminid meteor shower in a light-pollution-free environment, experiencing a romantic New Year’s Eve without leaving the country.

The Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration stated that this year, at the Gongliao Fulong Visitor Center, they have used the lychee-shaped lanterns from the 2014 Taiwan Lantern Festival to create the “Beautiful Lychee Fulong” creative light zone alongside new lantern displays. In addition, from Provincial Highway 2 to the Farglory Hotel plaza and the Nanfangao Visitor Center, light decorations have been set up to create creative light zones such as “Embracing the Sea,” “Flower Forest and Butterfly Whispers,” “Taiwan Blue Magpie,” and “Ocean Romance.” Visitors can experience a romantic foreign atmosphere without leaving Taiwan and fill up their phone memories with photos.

To welcome the New Year, the Fulong Visitor Center will hold a concert and taiko drum performance at 3:30 AM on January 1 next year. At the same time, the Farglory Hotel will provide 888 complimentary energy breakfasts for attendees. Additionally, from December 24 to March 4 next year, visitors can pick up a prayer card at the Fulong Visitor Center to pray for peace and success in the coming year.

Visiting Fulong in winter allows you to enjoy Taiwan’s only oceanic hot spring, a chloride bicarbonate spring sourced from 1,500 meters underground. With a pH value of 7.6, it is weakly alkaline, and its chloride content has antibacterial effects. The hot spring has a light amber appearance and is classified as a moisturizing deep ocean water therapeutic bath. Regular soaking can help relax both the body and mind.

The Farglory Hotel stated that during the event period, visitors who take a photo with the “Taiwan Blue Magpie”-shaped lantern decoration and post it on social media will have a chance to win prizes such as Farglory Hotel stay vouchers and Leofoo Village theme park tickets. Additionally, the opening week coincides with the peak of the Geminid meteor shower, with up to 120 meteors per hour. Visitors are invited to enjoy the spectacular meteor shower in the ideal light-pollution-free environment.
