Explore Hydrangeas in Yilan – Mingchi Recreation Area Blooms Until July

A new hydrangea viewing spot has emerged at Yilan’s Makau Eco-Park — a hydrangea garden located right across from the Mingchi Recreation Area. Blooming since today, these flowers can be admired free of charge as the site is located just opposite the recreation park. The Mingchi Recreation Park explained that the flower field came about five years ago when a local grower believed the Mingchi Nursery was well-suited for hydrangeas and donated the plants. This year, they have blossomed into a sea of flowers. Operators also remind the public that the hydrangea blooming period lasts until around mid-July, so those wanting to admire the flowers should visit soon.

If you’re visiting Yilan’s Makau Eco-Park, you can also check out the Mingchi Recreation Area. Regular admission is NT$100, while weekend tickets cost NT$120. The area is open daily from 08:00 to 17:00. Operators also note that hydrangea conditions can be affected by weather, so visitors are advised to contact the Mingchi Recreation Area in advance.
