With its beautiful coastline stretching to the horizon and white windmills gently turning, such breathtaking scenery isn’t something you have to travel all the way to southern Taiwan to enjoy. Located in Miaoli, Cape Paradise boasts gorgeous views and is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Especially popular is the rainbow installation by the seaside, which has become a hit photo spot on Instagram. As summer arrives, the hillsides are blanketed with blooming gaillardia flowers, transforming the area into a hidden floral haven by the coast.

Cape Paradise was once a landfill — a pity, considering its beauty. After undergoing greening and rehabilitation, it has now been transformed into Cape Paradise, attracting large numbers of tourists and breathing new life into this scenic spot. Visiting Cape Paradise isn’t just about taking pretty photos with the rainbow — the surrounding area features many attractions and is also part of the Green Light Seaside Cycling Trail. Visitors can leisurely ride bikes, enjoy the sea breeze, and take in the panoramic seascape.

If you want to go flower viewing in spring or summer, Miaoli offers more than just hydrangeas — the gaillardia flowers at Cape Paradise are also in full bloom. Gaillardia is an exceptionally hardy plant, drought- and wind-resistant, and commonly found along Taiwan’s coasts, as well as frequently spotted in Penghu. These small flowers sway in the wind, set against blue skies, white clouds, and windmills, making you feel as if you’ve arrived at a true cape paradise.
