No eco-violations allowed: Flying kites or frisbees at Qingtian Gang will result in a NT$1,500 fine

Qingtian Gang Grassland is one of the renowned recreational spots in Yangmingshan National Park. To protect the grassland’s ecological environment, activities such as flying kites, grass sliding, and throwing frisbees are prohibited. The public is urged not to break the law.

The Qingtian Gang Grassland has a rich ecological environment where birds such as skylarks, Formosan laughing thrushes, bamboo partridges, house martins, and barn swallows make their homes.Activities like flying kites and throwing frisbees may cause birds to perceive an attack and flee, while grass sliding can expose the soil and damage the ecological environment.The Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters stated that according to the National Park Law, first-time violators will be fined NT$1,500, and second-time violators NT$3,000. The public is urged not to break the law. Practicing “Leave No Trace” principles and fostering a friendly environment require collective effort.
