Starting October 27, 2014,Singapore Airlines will operate flights between Singapore and Auckland, New Zealand, using the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380,allowing passengers to enjoy the luxury and comfort provided by the Singapore Airlines A380.

With a seating capacity of up to 471 passengers, the A380 will be used on the daily SQ285 flight, which departs Singapore at 8:50 p.m. and arrives in Auckland at 11:45 a.m. the following day. The return SQ286 flight departs Auckland at 1:30 p.m. and arrives in Singapore at 7:00 p.m. Currently, this route is served by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft that can accommodate 278 passengers.

Singapore Airlines currently operates 12 weekly flights between Singapore and Auckland, including five other flights operated by the 777-200ER. Singapore Airlines also offers daily flights between Singapore and Christchurch using the 777-200ER aircraft.
